Girdwood Tours and Transportation doesn't stop when the snow starts to fly. We have sightseeing trips available throughout the winter. Our Wild Winter Day Trip and Anchorage Day Trip provide options for travelers finding themselves in either Anchorage or Girdwood.
Wild Winter Day Trip
A three hour tour departing The Hotel Alyeska every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday all winter.
The wild winter day trip includes a scenic drive along the Turnagain Arm to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center and the Portage Glacier Lodge. Admission to the conservation center and lunch at the lodge are included.

Anchorage Day Trip
A six hour trip departing The Hotel Alyeska at 10:00 AM daily.
A 45 minute drive along one of America's most scenic roadways takes you into the heart of Anchorage, where you'll tour the Anchorage Museum of History and Art, enjoy lunch at one of the many fine downtown restaurants, and have approximately one and a half hours of free time downtown for shopping and sightseeing before returning to The Hotel Alyeska. Admission to the museum and lunch are included.

Alaska Backcountry Access is a professional guide service with equipment, admission fees, snacks and transportation all included! Small groups, large groups, families and beginners are welcome.
Sourdough Snow Circuit
Exclusive: 2-4 participants
Snowshoe or ski trek to meet Dario Martinez of Iditarod Team Chugach Express for sled dog mushing. Take the long way around Moose Meadows, drive the team and visit the sled dog kennel. Pan for gold or visit an igloo with you your guide on your return trip through the snowy meadows of Girdwood's Glacier Valley.

Glacier Valley Trekker
Cross country ski or snowshoe through the snowy meadows and rainforests of Girdwood's Glacier Valley. Take in the silence of backcountry single-track, glide on groomed trails, cross frozen streams and view spectacular mountains. Our professional guides provide instruction and naturalist interpretation along the way. The Glacier VAlley Trekker is suitable for beginners and families. High quality ski and snowshoe rentals are included. Wear your winter gear for this active adventure.

Whittier Sea Side Trekker
Snowshoe along the coast of spectacular Prince William Sound in the remote town
of Whittier. This is a spectacular place to snowshoe or ski with steep mountains all around, blue/green ocean, glacial fiords and wooded rolling hills. See Alaska's wildlife, including bears, moose, musk oxen, caribou, owls, fox and more at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center. Drive through scenic Portage Valley, past World War II installations and through a unique, one lane, two and a half mile long road/railroad tunnel. We allow time for lunch at a local restaurant and get a chance to meet the locals. There is a variety of terrain from mellow trails to steep hills with amazing views!
